Terms of Use and Quick Review Terms

Welcome to TOY R&D. By accessing or using toyrd.com, or purchasing a ToyRD Quick Review, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site or purchase the service.
1. Purpose of the site
TOY R&D is an independent knowledge and engineering-notes project. It publishes practical observations, tools and reference material related to toy development, engineering, manufacturing, costing and compliance risk.
2. Not professional or certification advice
Site content and Quick Reviews provide general engineering and manufacturing perspectives. They do not constitute legal, regulatory, certification, laboratory, financial or tax advice. References to standards or regulations must be independently verified against the current standard, market and product. Final compliance and market-access decisions must be made with accredited laboratories, certification bodies and qualified professionals.
3. ToyRD Quick Review scope
A USD 10 ToyRD Quick Review covers one clearly defined toy-development issue. The customer may submit relevant context and supporting files. The deliverable is a written assessment, key risks, practical next-step recommendations and one follow-up question by email within seven calendar days after delivery.
The normal delivery target is five business days after the complete submission is received. The delivery period does not begin at payment if the customer has not yet supplied enough information to perform the review. TOY R&D may ask for clarification or explain that a request is too broad for the Quick Review scope.
A Quick Review does not include a scheduled call, full-product audit, complete compliance program, laboratory assessment, supplier negotiation, sourcing service, detailed redesign or review of unlimited documents.
4. Payment and taxes
Prices are displayed and charged in US dollars through PayPal. The first release does not automatically calculate tax at checkout. This does not represent a statement that a transaction is exempt from any tax. Each party remains responsible for obligations that legally apply to it.
5. Refunds
The customer may request a full refund before TOY R&D marks the review as started. After work has started, refunds are available for duplicate charges, failure to deliver the purchased service, or cases where the service was not actually provided. If TOY R&D determines before starting that the submitted request is outside the Quick Review scope, the customer may narrow the request or receive a full refund.
6. Customer authorization and confidentiality
The customer confirms that they are authorized to submit all text and files. Do not upload confidential employer, client, supplier or third-party materials without permission. The customer remains responsible for removing information that is not needed for the review.
TOY R&D will use submitted material only to provide and administer the purchased service, prevent abuse and comply with applicable obligations. Project material will not be published, used in publicity, incorporated into articles or turned into a case study without separate written permission. Retention and security are described in the Privacy Policy.
7. No sourcing or agency relationship
TOY R&D is not acting as a sourcing agent, trading company, freight forwarder, contract manufacturer, attorney, certification body or laboratory. A Quick Review does not create an employment, partnership, fiduciary or agency relationship.
8. Use of site content
- Articles, guides and tools may be shared in their original form with attribution and a link to the source.
- Translated republication requires explicit permission.
- Commercial republication, paid-course reuse, bulk scraping, dataset creation and AI model training are not permitted without prior written consent.
9. Supplier information and third-party links
Supplier capabilities, pricing benchmarks and tooling ranges are indicative rather than contractual and must be re-verified for each project. External links are provided for reference. TOY R&D does not control or guarantee third-party content, availability or practices.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TOY R&D and its author are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or special losses arising from use of the site or reliance on a Quick Review. The customer remains responsible for product decisions, validation, testing, supplier control and legal compliance. For a paid Quick Review, aggregate liability will not exceed the amount paid for that review, except where applicable law does not permit that limitation.
11. Changes and contact
